  • Renting Partnerships is a 501.c.3 non-profit corporation that depends on low cost loans from people and organizations to make housing affordable at about $400 below market rate.

​DIVIDEND HOUSING​

Dividend Housing is a new type of housing cooperative with a set of legal and financial agreements that allows people to participate in management and build wealth.  Housing is developed and owned by Renting Partnerships, a non-profit community based organization that provides administration and permanently affordability.  A long term lease, or occupancy agreement, includes these elements:

  • A "Membership Agreement" assuring that every household has a vote in the resident association which collectively establishes management policy and procedures.   
  • "House Rules" adopted by consensus of the resident community.    
  • An "Equity Sharing Agreement" establishing a system for earning financial credits as households fulfill  defined responsibilities.  Credits earned by each household vest after five years. Up to $10,000 can be earned every ten years.
​Our founders developed Dividend Housing to overcome the inequity of an economic system in which only people with financial resources can invest in a home.  Credits earned by residents are paid for through savings achieved as residents fulfill their commitments to the community.
